Contradictions

We all live our lives with contradictions and one of my favorite quotes about this is:

"Do not worry about your contradictions.  Persephone is both Floral Maiden and Queen of Death."

I think people find that you are hypocritical if you are to contradict yourself.  But life is like that, isn't it?  Maybe people are born to die or vice versa, but we are alive and therefore must continue to grow and change.  Whether that means we are naive yet sinners, or otherwise conflicted, we are allowed to be.  That is nature.

Currently I am in a state of being one foot inside of two religions.  Although it's considered a sin, I find some part of me is still fascinated by Catholicism, the celebrations and rituals, and the beauty of cathedrals and statues of the virgin mother.

Although I struggle with this I find it's comfortable thinking of past people juggling two religions, and secretly practicing witchcraft where nobody would see.  It's fun to have such a contradiction in my life.  However, I find that singing and dancing and meditations can be found in both religions and bring you special closeness to the gods.

The moon is also constantly changing and contradicting itself in a way.  Although it is complete, we don't see it that way.  My view of the moon as a waxing or waning moon might let me see things another way or give me the power to do different spells.  The full moon and the new or dark moon is for leaving things behind or destroying things but while in another phase you may build and create.

Intentions

Allow yourself to be where you are.

As a scorpio I always try to rise from my ashes.  This is a reference to one of the symbols of the scorpio zodiac sign, the pheonix.  I always learn from my mistakes or come back from them somehow altered.  I've learned not to take things for granted from mistakes I've made, and therefore try to see the abundance in my life instead of the lack.

Moon Phase

Today is March 28th, and the moon is in waning crescent phase and the aries zodiac sign.  This is especially meaningful to me because my grandmother died last year around St. Patrick's day and her birthday is on April Fool's day.  This year I will light a candle in her honor, and say a small prayer to her.  When I blow out the cnadle I imagine her standing beside me in the scent of wax wafting around the room.

Tarot Card:

The Hermit: Introspection, inner guidance, prudence.

Affirmations:

Every thought we think is creating our future.

So mote it be.
